Nanshin Nansak
Nanshin Nansak is a PhD candidate in the mathematical modeling of biodegradable polymers at Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Sligo, under the supervision of Dr. Leo Creedon, Dr. Denis O’Mahoney, and Dr. Marion McAfee. He currently serves as the Postgraduate Student Representative at ATU Sligo, actively contributing to academic quality assurance and student engagement initiatives.
Nanshin works with Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) as a learner representative on the TrustEd Ireland assessment panels for three universities: Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork, and the University of Limerick. He has also served as a QQI Programme Reviewer for new postgraduate programmes at Munster Technological University (MTU) in Cork and was appointed to the international expert panel that conducted the institutional quality review of South East Technological University (SETU).
As part of his environmental advocacy, Nanshin serves as a Climate Ambassador with the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, promoting sustainability and environmental awareness across campuses and local communities.
He has also contributed to national student engagement initiatives as an NTUTTORR Champion, where he co-developed a Financial Digital Course for third-level students across Ireland in collaboration with ATU’s Access and Widening Participation Office and the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS).
Earlier in his career, Nanshin accumulated over a decade of experience in research and teaching in Nigeria. He taught mathematics and served as a Scientific Officer at the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), contributing to nationally funded projects involving geospatial analysis, groundwater vulnerability assessment, and climate-related data modelling.
