Ismaila Abimbola is a PhD student in the Department of Environmental Science at the ATU Sligo working with Dr Salem Gharbia. My PhD research is focused on developing methods integrating portable sensors and deep learning models to quantify the physical properties of microplastics (size and shape) and detect their chemical properties (polymers). I completed my master’s in environmental science at the University of Aberdeen, UK.
