Dr Saleema Panda is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Sligo, Ireland. Prior to joining ATU, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the National University of Singapore and Munster Technological University (MTU), Cork. She completed her PhD in Structural Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India, where her doctoral research focused on the nonlinear analysis of stiffened plate structures.
Her research interests include computational modelling and simulation in structural engineering, structural dynamics, granular flow, and particle-based modelling. Her work employs numerical approaches, including the nonlinear Finite Element Method (FEM) and Discrete Element Method (DEM), to investigate complex engineering systems, structural behaviour, and material interactions. She is actively involved in international research collaborations, including the IEA Wind Task 43 on digitalisation in wind energy and the EU COST Action ONDEM.
