Dr Ramen Ghosh
I am a research staff member in the Mathematical Modelling and Intelligent Systems for Health and Environment (MISHE) group at Atlantic Technological University, Sligo, where I have been working with Dr. Marion McAfee since July 2022. I received my PhD from University College Dublin, where I was part of the Control and Decision Science group in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
My research explores how complex systems behave over time when randomness, interaction, learning, and control intersect. I am especially interested in ergodicity—the idea that a system’s long-run behavior becomes independent of its initial state—and how this principle can fail, emerge, or be shaped through control and learning.

MISHE Seminar Series
I organize the MISHE seminar series. If you have a speaker in mind who would
be of interest to a broad audience in our MISHE group, please feel free to
contact me and we can arrange a talk.
If you would like to promote your published paper, an upcoming event, or any
other news on the MISHE LinkedIn page, please send me a short description.
