Dr Kieran Hughes
Dr Kieran Hughes is a lecturer in the Department of Computing at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Sligo. He holds a BSc in Applied Mathematical Sciences from Dublin City University and an MSc in Mathematics from the Open University. He completed his PhD at ATU Sligo with a thesis entitled “Derivations of Group Algebras with Applications.”
Following his doctoral studies, Dr Hughes worked as a staff researcher at ATU Sligo, contributing to a wide range of interdisciplinary projects. His work has spanned topics including algebraic structures, environmental sensors, bovine reproduction, and digital healthcare. His current research interests lie in group rings, mathematical modelling, and digital health.
