Dr Callum Ives
Dr Callum Ives is an Assistant Lecturer in Chemistry at Atlantic Technological University, Sligo. His research focuses on the application of high-performance computing (HPC) and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to study biological molecules and drug delivery systems. Current projects include investigations into glycan structure and dynamics, as well as host–guest interactions relevant to pharmaceutical formulation and delivery.
Callum holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Surrey and a PhD in Computational Chemistry and Biophysics from the University of Dundee. His training included structure–function studies of membrane proteins using X-ray crystallography at Trinity College Dublin, and research on glycan conformations at Maynooth University. He has published in leading journals and presented at international conferences, with expertise spanning computational chemistry, structural biochemistry, and biomolecular modelling.
