PhD Candidate

Abdul Fatah

Abdul Fatah is a PhD student in the department of computer science and applied physics at Atlantic Technological University Galway Ireland, working with Dr. Ian McLoughlin. Their research focuses on quantum computing error correcting codes, quantum combinatorial designs, quantum cryptography. Before PhD, Abdul Fatah has completed Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronic Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro Pakistan and a Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree in Industrial Electronics Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi Pakistan. He has worked more than 3 years in electrical and electronics industry as a research engineer in Pakistan. Their current work explores the new techniques of constructing quantum error correcting codes using quantum combinatorial designs like quantum Latin squares. They have published work in QCNC2024 IEEE Conference in Japan. Their research got Honorable Mention for scalability potential at University of Oxford in NQCC UK Quantum Computing Scalability Conference 2025.
